From dances to duels

Eugene Onegin is a uniquely Russian work with a universality that has made it one of the most beloved stories in all of opera. A radiant example of Russian lyric opera, Eugene Onegin perfectly demonstrates the genius of Tchaikovsky. His melodic music and lush orchestrations will transport viewers to another world. With unrequited love, class differences, and tragedy—our 2017 production will have you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.

When the narcissistic young Onegin spurns the affections of a sensitive young girl and turns a pistol on his best friend in a fatal duel, he is left only with regret. Years later, reunited with his now-married former admirer, can he rekindle his chance at true love?
