Spirituals, Jazz, and Opera
An Evening of Spirituals, Jazz, and Opera
An Evening of Spirituals, Jazz, and Opera will showcase some of our finest local singers. We are proud to have developed a new partnership with the Hampton House historic institution.
The Historic Hampton House Cultural Center is an iconic segregation-era motel and lounge located in Miami-Dade County’s Brownsville neighborhood. Throughout the 1950s, ’60s, and early ’70s, some of the most influential entertainers, athletes, and Civil Rights leaders visited, performed, and made history at the Hampton House, including Cannonball Adderley, Sam Cooke, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Marvin Gaye, Muhammad Ali, Jackie Robinson, Althea Gibson, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Malcolm X, and many more. Today, the newly restored building provides a forum for educational, cultural, and historical activities for residents and visitors to the Greater Miami area.
Tickets are $10 per person. Seating is general admission. All events will be held in strict accordance with CDC guidelines for social distancing. Masks will be required.
