Voice Competition ConcertYoung Patronesses of the Opera/Florida Grand Opera National Voice Competition
Past winners include many opera luminaries whom you may have seen on stages around the world, including Aleksey Bogdanov, Elizabeth Caballero, Michael Fabiano, Brandon Jovanovich, Dana Beth Miller, Latonia Moore, David Portillo, Nadine Sierra, Karen Slack, Noah Stewart, and many others. Here is an opportunity to get to know the best of the best before they are famous! Judges include James Barbato, Acting General Director, Palm Beach Opera; Matt Cooksey, Director of Artistic Operations, Florida Grand Opera; Christopher Hahn, General Director, Pittsburgh Opera; Louis Otey, Artistic Director, Hudson Valley International Festival of the Voice; and Maria Todaro, General Director and CEO, Florida Grand Opera. Funds for the competition are provided by Young Patronesses of the Opera, with ongoing support from Junior Opera Guild, Dr. Phillip George (the Judy George Award), the Irene Patti Swartz Hammond Memorial Award fund, and several individual donors. All singers who participate in the Finals Concert win an award. Donors who underwrite an award have the opportunity to name the award and present it to the winner on stage.
